While Captain Pike is waiting for the USS Enterprise to get ready from its repairs, he is doubting his leadership capabilities, and if he wants to return back to the captain’s chair. Also, the revealing of his future death, time, and how, after a visit to the Klingon moon of Boreth, worries him. He keeps seeing his death, which he felt it vividly. Admiral Robert April asks Pike to gather his crew, take Enterprise, and go to save Una and her crew, who went missing during a first contact mission. Pike calls first Spock, whose girlfriend asked him to marry her, and he accepted and meets his new crew, and the improved Enterprise.
